------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What's new for
this term? As always we have lots of
exciting new elements for the spring
term! For the babies we will be
discovering and enjoying textures. The sense
of touch is one of the most
important and stimulating for children at
this age and we will be letting
them explore and feel a whole range
of objects designed to help them begin
to understand the world around them. Our
walkers to 2 will be captivated by
our transport section. Designed to promote
their burgeoning vocabulary we will be
singing a fun and funky MAD song
all about methods of transport, so
‘All Aboard!!!’ for some MAD antics!
Finally, our 2 to 4 years olds
will be creeping up and surprising Ralph
with a great counting game guaranteed to
make the children giggle as well as
improving their mathematical skills with our
fun game, ‘Count it, Throw it, 1,2,3’. Don’t forget to book
up you place for your MAD Academy
spring term with your class leader right

the run up to Christmas helping Ralph
in our festive competition. Lots of you
helped Ralph to wrap his Christmas
present and he loved all your fabulous
designs. We have chosen 11 of the
brightest and jolliest to go into the
website gallery. Congratulations to our
three fantastic winners – Amy Macaulay,
Lewis McKnight and Jack Williams. As
well as having their gorgeous art-work
taking pride of place in our gallery
they will be receiving a brilliant
musical prize very soon. To see the
top designs, visit
our gallery>>> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One Life MAD Academy will again be
attending the inspirational One Life Live
Exhibition at Olympia this year. Taking
place from 29 February to the 2nd
March, One Life Live is for anyone
who has dreamed of changing their lives
in some way. Whether it’s taking a
career break to travel the world, moving
abroad, retraining or starting your own
business, the exhibition aims to give
you inspiration and practical advice on
how to make a fulfilling and dramatic
change to your life. MAD Academy will
be at the 3 day event giving
people information on their exciting franchise
opportunities. If you would like to find
out more about the event, or book
tickets, click
here>>> Perhaps we will see some
you there!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Message from your Area
Leader – Emma Lelliot Ralph and I are really
looking forward to some fabulous classes
this term and we’ve already chosen
some excellent tracks to get everyone up
and moving. We’re particularly excited to
be returning to the warm Parish
Hall of the Sacred Heart, Walton Avenue,
in Henley, which will now be our
permanent home. The afternoon class at
the Magnet Leisure Centre is filling
fast so let me know asap if you
want to join this one. The Charvil
2-4 year olds class is now full
and I’m taking a list for those
who would be interested in a Friday
class at this venue in the afternoon
– call or e-mail to let me know.
All other classes as advertised. See you
all very soon! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did You Know? Clapping our hands to the
beat of a song seems such a simple
skill. But recent research suggests that
it is actually rather complex and can
have considerable influence over a child’s
development. The ability to identify the
pulse in a piece of music, and
keep time with it, has become known
as ‘beat competency’. It seems the
more proficient we become at clapping
along to a favourite tune, the more
both our physical and intellectual abilities
can improve and this is particularly
true for children! To read more, click

great Christmas and would like to take
this opportunity to wish you all a
very happy New Year! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you
