The MAD Academy Newsletter – Spring 2007

What's new for next term?

As always we have lots of exciting new elements for the summer term! For the babies we will be learning all about familiar animals. With the use of an upbeat funky song which the babies will love, we will introduce them to some characteristics of the animals they are starting to recognize. Our walkers to 2 will absolutely love playing our exciting ‘what’s in the bag’ matching game! Designed to develop their language, reasoning and concentration skills, children will adore searching out items that match their pictures. Finally, there is laughter guaranteed for our 2 to 4 years olds as they begin using their imaginations to imitate the behaviours, sounds and movements of common animals.

We’re All Going On A Summer Holiday!

As we all start to enjoy the long warm days of summer, thoughts inevitably turn to holiday fun! Ralph has already booked his holiday by the sea and he would really like it if all his MAD friends could come along to help him build sand castles! So watch out for lots of holiday hilarity in July as we slap on the sun-cream, dig out our sun hats and party together on the beach. Watch the website for further details!

Eve Magazine

Helen Harrington, founder of MAD Academy, has been featured in a national magazine! The award winning Eve magazine - Britain’s fastest growing women’s glossy – approached Helen in December, interested in the dramatic personal changes she went through to set up MAD Academy. “It seems the rapid success and unique ethos of MAD Academy had caught their attention,” explains Helen “but most of all they were interested in how my life had been affected by leaving a career at BBC Worldwide and establishing my own business." The finished article is in Eve’s April edition and is available now. Click here to read the article

Competition Winners!!

Thanks to everyone who came to Ralph’s birthday party last term. We hope you all had a great time. Ralph certainly enjoyed himself and he loved all the fantastic cards you gave him! Thanks also to everyone who sent in their present suggestions – it gave us lots of great ideas! In the end we gave Ralph a stunning bow tie with stars on and a brand new snorkel set for him to use when he goes on holiday. So well done Jamie and Faye for suggesting these great ideas. You will both receive a fabulous musical prize next term from your class leader!

One Life

A generation ago a ‘job for life’ was what most people aspired to. But not any more it seems. These days people are wanting more from their lives and careers and they are not afraid of making big changes to suit the different stages of their lives or to chase their dreams. On average, people have at least three different careers in the course of their working lives and are looking for opportunities to balance family and career, to fulfill their potential and do things they love. It is for this reason that the national One Life Exhibition, held annually at Olympia at the beginning of March, is always so popular. Designed to help those looking to make a change in their life – be it to retrain, become their own boss, relocate or take a career break – the exhibition attracted over 16,000 people this year, and MAD Academy was there! There was lots of interest from people who wanted to become franchisees and build their own businesses with the help, support and enviable brand name that comes with MAD Academy. As a result, this year looks like it is set to become a time of expansion for MAD! If you are interested in finding out more about running a successful MAD franchise, click here>>> or Contact us for a full franchisee prospectus.

Happy Easter!

We hope you all have a great Easter break and we look forward to seeing you next term!
As always we have lots of exciting new elements for the spring term! For the babies we will be discovering and enjoying textures. The sense of touch is one of the most important and stimulating for children at this age and we will be letting them explore and feel a whole range of objects designed to help them begin to understand the world around them. Our walkers to 2 will be captivated by our transport section. Designed to promote their burgeoning vocabulary we will be singing a fun and funky MAD song all about methods of transport, so ‘All Aboard!!!’ for some MAD antics! Finally our 2 to 4 years olds will be creeping up and surprising Ralph with a great counting game guaranteed to make the children giggle!
