The MAD Academy Newsletter – Autumn 2006

What's new for next term?

The Autumn term is already jam packed with fantastic activities. We've got three exciting new elements designed to stimulate, develop and inspire! For the babies we will be learning all about parts of the body with some catchy songs. For our walkers to 2s we will be playing Ralph Says, dancing along to the funky MAD song and improving our co-ordination and listening skills. Finally our 2 to 4 year olds will be having fun with Topic Time, learning about every-day situations in a creative and exciting way. And of course there will still be all the old favourites in all the classes - interesting props to explore, fun games to play, great instruments to try out and loads and loads of funky songs and dances!

If all that wasn't enough, Ralph is having a Christmas Party in December so there will be tons of great Christmassy activities for everyone to get involved in!

Remember to book up for your MAD Academy classes with your class leader for the autumn term right away. Places are limited and going fast!!!! To contact your nearest class leader, click here>>>

Competition Time!

Well done to everyone who took part in the drawing competition last term. We had 47 fantastic entries, including little ducks, speckled frogs, sporty cars and exotic jungles! Who’d have thought there were so many artistic children out there!

Congratulations to our winners Hannah (aged 2), Mia Palmer (aged 1) and Georgia (aged 3) whose entries were amazing. All three winners will receive some fantastic musical instruments, to recreate the MAD magic at home. To view all your wonderful pictures, including the winning three, visit our gallery by clicking here>>>

Watch out for our Christmas competition, to be launched later in the autumn term!

MAD Academy Launch New CD

After the success of our previous CDs – Jump and Hop - MAD Academy are proud to announce the launch of their third CD - Skip. With 25 fantastic songs, it’s guaranteed to have everyone up and dancing in class next term. You will find many firm favourites, such as The Alphabet Song, Never Smile At A Crocodile, and Teddy Bear’s Picnic, as well as some great new ones. Each has been given MAD's funky treatment! The CD will be launched in October and will be available from your class leader or from the website.

Did You Know? Dancing Develops Children’s Physical Control

Anyone who has seen them wobble their way across a room, only to fall on their bottoms, knows that children have very little control of their bodies! Physical control is something children need to develop throughout their childhood. Dance, with its precise movements, balance, extension and poise, is a fantastic and fun way to teach children good muscle control!
